Hello Shujing!

I absolutely love how you drew something for this blog post! As an artist myself, it inspires me to create my own art for later assignments (if I end up having the time!).

In response to your discussion on victimization, I also talked about how most workers tended to not notice a sense of oppression, but rather saw themselves as essential workers to support their families. Rather, the outside world (aka those who were not these workers and those who reflected on this time period during a later era) more easily notices the systemic oppression that these women have faced. I really think that McClintock's argument about gender and nationalism relate to what you have to say, since these mill women were essential to Japan's economic success, but were given low wages and less rights than men.
